Nucleom offers inspection services in the mining industry allowing a decrease in risks associated with workers’ security.
The inspection also ensures the integrity of the equipment and the proper follow-up on the norms of the mining industry. Boiler, crusher and gearing inspections are examples of services done by Nucleom in the field of mining and metals.
Ball/Rod Mill Inspection
Nucleom carries out thickness measures and corrosion naps of the trunk. The gear inspection carries itself out by researching, inspecting and, by evaluating cracking. In the mining domain, cracks often find themselves on the shell of the flange bolts, mounting bolts, and on the main motor shaft.
Winch Inspection
Nucleom offers an inspection service to ensure the integrity of winches, lifting baskets and structures in the mining industry. The proposed inspection techniques allow, amongst other things, to validate the presence of deformed, cracked, or corroded parts. Furthermore, the non-destructive testing inspection identifies the cracks and/or excessive wear and tear of the pieces at hand.
Tank Inspection
The atmosphere in mining and metallurgical plants is a favourable environment for corrosion. Nucleom offers an inspection service allowing an internal and external corrosion mapping. It is therefore possible to determine the loss in materials and in thickness caused by this phenomenon.
Regarding the tank inspections, Nucleom offers inspections with complete APIs. An API inspection takes place in service or out of service all according to the standards of the API 650/653. It covers the minimum requirements for tank construction and maintenance. Depending on the client’s needs, Nucleom offers a complete inspection of the floor and/or an evaluation of the ferrules, roof, and related accessories (e.g., nozzles). For out-of-service maintenance, evaluation of the thickness loss under the tank’s floor is a frequent application. Depending on the standard and state, tank inspections are mandatory within a certain time frame. API is a standard that is referred to as ASME, ASTM, CSA and AWS.
Mining Truck Inspection
Nucleom performs certified inspection of field repair welds. Considering the often-large geometries and considerable thicknesses, it is important to select the appropriate types of inspections. Volumetric inspections identify repairs and modifications to the weld. The complete inspection of drill welds and magnetic particle inspection of buckets are mandatory to ensure the integrity of mining vehicle parts.
Conveyor Inspection
Nucleom offers inspection solutions by non-destructive testing for drums, shafts, and rubber conveyor belts of a mining conveyor.
Specific Equipment
Nucleom also inspects turbine blades, lifting beams, crusher, main structure, head and bowls, main shaft, rotor shaft and shovel buckets.
